| May 30, 2011 Olia Saunders launches Surya Design. “Surya Design” is the creation of New York-based designer and visual artist Olia Saunders. As inspired by the philosophical profundity and beauty of yoga culture, Olia began to channel this influence in her work. What started with printed illustrations soon led to the designing of apparel and accessories for everyone from yoga practitioners and lovers of Asian art to style conscious consumers. Juxtaposing a number of fresh color schemes with fluid lines, symbols and reflective mantras, Olia’s designs could be described as a modern interpretation of a more traditional aesthetic. Above all, her artwork invites the viewer to explore universal themes: to experience the essence of spirituality and immerse oneself in the grace of sublime, mysterious worlds. August 18, 2010 V&V PR announces: VASILEVA joins facebook - http://www.facebook.com/pages/San-Francisco-CA/Elena-Vasileva/107732642614851 Vasileva site is fully operating - Elena Vasileva offers unique hand-made cashmere styles for online shoppers-http://www.pitchengine.com/vasileva/vasileva-luxury-knitwear-brand-launches-its-website-operations/82732/ Vasileva, a luxury knitwear brand founded by Elena Vasileva in 2009, launches its website at www.vasileva.net offering the designer's fall winter 2010 collection cashmere tops and dresses at competitive prices directly to fashion and style conscious women. The designer offers both ready-to-wear and custom-made options. Custom-made styles are priced higher than made-to- measure while ready-to-wear styles' prices are competitive with retail designers offerings in the same knitwear category. Who is VASILEVA woman? “The first question I always ask is, would I wear this? It’s not possible to please everyone with every design, but if I create something that I would wear myself, at least one person is guaranteed to be happy! My client appreciates that less is more, that understated elegance is far more powerful and enduring than overt sex appeal. The most beautiful design in the world has already been created: the female form. My designs aim to showcase the female form in the most flattering way, to enhance it, never to hide it. The VASILEVA woman is confident in her own skin and wants to wear designs which render her strong yet feminine, classic yet possessing an undeniable but quiet sex appeal. " It often feels as if designers and consumers think of knitwear as something secondary and casual, therefore somehow less fashionable. The very word knit conjures up a narrow and limited image in many people’s minds. Knits are just an underpinning, worn under a fancy jacket or a simple twin set for a weekend getaway. “It does not have to be this way and I am here to prove it. I aim to show women that a great knit dress can be just as powerful as a little black crepe chiffon cocktail number." Designer Elena Vasileva was born in Moscow, Russia, to a family of aeronautical engineers. She would likely have ended up in the family business but her natural inclinations veered towards the arts. Elena found an innovative compromise by designing airplane interiors. Ironically, her new role as designer requires a technical, scientific eye. Every loop, every detail is mathematically calculated, engineered to highlight the female form's natural contours. Elena’s journey into fashion started with a happy accident. She taught herself how to sew in elementary school but without means to purchase a sewing machine, she settled for a pair of knitting needles. The endless combinations and possibilities that yarns provide fascinated and ultimately determined Elena’s destiny. Her excitement was based on a simple notion that you could make mistakes in the world of knits! Unlike fabric, once you cut a pattern there is no going back; the reality of a knitwear designer is more flexible. You can adjust accordingly: go back and fix sleeves or the neckline, add details or remove them - you can knit and re-knit a dress or a sweater. Being a perfectionist, Elena found her passion. "As long as the yarns keep unrolling and the needles keep working, all your wildest, most challenging designs, anything you can dream up can come to life!" Those first dreams were made of old socks she found in the family apartment. Allowing her creativity free reign, she cut those socks, using and re-using them. With a disciplined and constant practice spanning many years, Elena mastered her craft. In 1996 Elena and her family moved to San Francisco. The move and her new life on the West coast proved so inspirational, she decided to follow her dreams of becoming a fashion designer. Graduating from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, Elena finally felt empowered in bringing her vision to the world. Elena's warrior-inspired knitwear collection submission in 2005 to the prestigious GenArt competition, garnered a positive response. GenArt offered to showcase the collection at their annual Fresh Faces in Fashion event in San Francisco. The show “was a great success and gave me valuable insight into what it takes to create a fashion show. I was elated to finally show my clothes to the public, and pleased at the amount of attention and interest that ensued.” Having found an enthusiastic audience, Elena is back this season with a collection that embodies her design philosophy at its best. The treatment dramatically improves skin tone and texture. It is also highly effective treating hyper pigmentation including melasma. The treatment consists of Vitamin C, Green Tea Extract and Coffee Berry Extract among other ingredients - it effectively clears up acne and improves acne scars as well as stimulates collagen and elastin production. The procedure takes only 20 minutes but achieves the results for all skin types. Most people consider botox and laser as the only answer to all your skin aging problems these days. It seems that any other alternative therapy or treatment for your skin is outdated or useless. Vi Peel defies this notion. Obsolete peels of the past, without exception, epitomize the “no pain, no gain” approach to skin care. Before Vi Peel, the deeper the peel, the more painful, the more downtime, the better the results. Vi Peel is the first Next Generation Aesthetic. It is painless, yet produces dramatic visible results in just days with little downtime.
